This record can look like they married in Norwich, because they got a marriage licence at Norwich Consistory Court. This court is used where the couple come from, or wish to marry, in different Archdeaconries. It is dated 10 October 1717 and shows:
It looks silly having the second Luke born as the longest living, with another Luke born when he was 5. This Luke has been selected as he fits the age recorded at death. In theory Luke 3536 bp 1727 could have died in Jun 1730, but that would mean Luke 3546 was living at the same time from Nov 1729.
It is possible that when Luke 3546 was born the midwife thought he would not last very long at all, so they baptised him Luke at birth so he didn’t die not baptised.
We won’t solve this problem, but it seems clear from the records that they are all the same family with the same parents.
This is Colkirk church, where this generation were born, married and some were also buried, though we don’t believe there are any gravestones remaining.
In the Norfolk Archives are both Luke and Mary Sands wills. Luke left everything to Mary. Mary’s will was probated in 1766 when she died 18 years later. She makes her son Daniel executor, and she names her children:
